- PESOS 2010 is intended to provide a forum for presenting and discussing a wide range of topics related to service-oriented systems. The aim of PESOS is to bring together researchers from academia and industry, as well as practitioners working in the areas of software engineering and service-oriented systems to discuss research challenges, recent developments, novel applications, as well as methods, techniques, experiences, and tools to support the engineering and use of service-oriented systems. The workshop seeks contributions that address theoretical foundations, practical techniques, empirical studies, experience, and lessons learned related to service-oriented systems.

All extended abstract submitted to the workshop will be peer-reviewed and authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection decisions by October 15, 2009. - WORKSHOP SCOPE. To overcome the intrinsic limitations of mobile devices and envi- ronments, a variety of research studies have produced supporting methods, proof-of-concept prototypes, and disciplines. As an ex- ample, Resilience, or "the ability of the network to provide and maintain an acceptable level of service in the face of various faults and challenges to normal operation", is being recognized more and more as a fundamental attribute for truly effective mo- bile and ubiquitous services of today and tomorrow. However, it is still unclear whether current solutions can satisfy the chal- lenging adaptability and dependability requirements of the emerg- ing mobile ubiquitous services, such as mobile commerce, wireless control of robots, healthcare computing, and video-surveillance.
